H.O.G. chapter participates in the Ocala Mayors' Spring Clean-up.
Meeting at 9:00 on a Saturday morning - several members of the chapter met Hal Waltts at the McPherson Government Complex, put on their florescent vests and headed out to clean 25th Avenue - from 17th Street to Fort King.
Following the road clean-up - we all went over to Darell's Restaurant for more coffee, a great breakfast and additional adult conversation!

- Chapter ride to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg to watch the Tampa Rays vs. Cleveland Indians.
What a wonderful event. Once we got to the stadium, we were treated to the best parking available - right in front!. Our seats were right over 3rd base with a wonderful view of the game and stadium. This was the first experience for many of us in an in-door baseball park. 72 degrees year round - comfortable seats and great food. This will definitely be a 'repeat'. Enjoy our pictures! Jay

Great Day for Advanced Rider course at HD-O. Members learning new skills and having fun!!!! Great instructors.....
- Sat 3/23 - Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Members.
30+ members (hunters, workers and volunteers) braved the elements this morning to participate in our annual Easter Egg Hunt.
We met at H-D Ocala at 10 am. Opened the sealed envelop and found out where the secret locations were for hunting for eggs.
Stop 1 - Coehadjoe Park
Stop 2 - Jervey Gant Park
Stop 3 - Santos Camp Ground and our final location . . . . .
Stop 4 - Brick City Park. Max, Ralph, Bj, Dan the Meat man, Debbie and their crew were there cooing Italian Sausage, peppers & onions - Dogs, potato salad, baked beans and other stuff.
Guy was there ready to hand out sixty prizes - one for each egg found. Dinners, gas tickets, movie tickets, lottery tickets, Dunkin Donut cards and more.
What a great day. Thanks all (both volunteers and members).
See you on the next ride and again next year for an even bigger, better hunt!

- Sunday February 17th - 2013: 4th Annual $500.00 Chapter Challenge held at the Ocala dealership.
We had 23 chapter volunteers working in 27 degree temperatures - cooking, parking and registering members from far-away chapters. Kudos to you all!
The winning 50-50 ticket holder took home $72 dollars and the chapter with the most members attending was Crystal River (54 HOG members).
2nd place: Lake County (49 members)
3rd place: Seminole chapter (29 members)
New Smyrna with 16 and Gainesville with 9.

- Hospice of Marion County - 9th Annual Steel Horse Stampede
H.O.G. chapter members met at H-D dealership @ 8:30 so Mike Wincek could lead us over to the Hospice facility in Ocala.
We then took a 55-mile ride through Marion County, escorted by Marion County Sheriff’s Department and Ocala Police Department.
We got a close-up view of the four Hospice houses available for the area’s hospice patients. Finished up where we started with a fabulous BBQ lunch and entertainment by Nightshift!. Pictures provided by Jay Vertuno & Susan Wincek

- Leesburg Bikefest 2012
The sixteenth annual Leesburg Bikefest thunders into Lake County, April 27th through 29th, 2012. The three day motorcycle rally and music event has quickly grown to one of the largest of its kind. It's renowned for its friendly, fun-filled atmosphere and draws enthusiasts from around the country.
Entertainment includes bike exhibitions, merchandise vendors, the Ms. Bikefest pageant, biker games, specialty events and much more.
Music is a big part of BikeFest, and this year's lineup features live performances from popular rock bands FireHouse (Friday) and Seven Mary Three (Saturday).

Ocala HOG chapter held their Travelling HOG today at the Ocala Elks Lodge. Even with a much needed rain - the 'show must go on . . . '.

Biketoberfest 2010: Rode to Daytona on Saturday afternoon (10/09) about 1:00. What a beautiful day. Blue sky, about 80 degrees, no rain. Spent most of my afternoon at Harley-Davidson Daytona. Stopped by the H.O.G. Pin Stop and picked up my 2010 pin and had a cup of coffee with the girls there.

We were invited to the Friday night game so we could get the crowd in the right mood! Prior to the start of the game, our chapter rode our bikes onto the track in front of the field - with our pipes pointing back toward the stands. Right after the Star Spangle Banner - the Football team came running out on the field and we were given the signal to rev our engines. Everybody seemed to get a "kick" out of our participation. Most of us were hungry, so we rode over to the new Barbazones and had a light dinner. Temp was just around 75 degrees. A beautiful evening for riding! Thanks Jerry for getting us together and leading us!

Several members of Chapter 0737 Tallahassee rode down to Ocala today so we could have a joint ride in horse country. What a wonderful day, and beautiful ride. Rich & Ellen planned and led our ride through NW Marion County where we traveled down numerous winding roads with views of horses, cows, sheep, two deer, an eagle and overhanging trees. Thank you Rich and Ellen. We finally ended our ride at Gators Dockside for food, refreshments and big screen TVs. FSU won 31 to Zip and when we left, the Gators were winning 41 to 14.

Guy "The Big Ragu" led our small group of starving bikers to Sumter Landing in The Villages on a beautiful evening in central Florida. Weather was perfect, very little traffic and the restaurant was ready for our arrival. In addition to great "grub", the manager brought out three plates of appetizers that we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Guy - for another great ride!

We left Ocala Harley-Davidson around 10:30 a.m. - had a wonderful ride with more than 36 bikes. We stopped in Salt Springs for a water break - then on to Gator Joes for lunch. On a side note - the University of Florida had an early game (12:30 kick-off). They were playing the USF Bulls. Final score: Gators 38 vs South Florida 14. Go Gators!

Chapter ride to Lakeland, FL Wed - July 21, 2010 This was our day ride led by Guy - we rode down to Lakeland and had lunch at Ciao Bella Restaurant (great Italian food). Then we stopped by the Lakeland Harley dealer - everyone was super nice! We left there and found a DQ in Lakeland and quenched our sweet tooth there. Although it was overcast with a heavy cloud cover in the morning - temperatures exceeded 98 degrees (actual temp) - so we stopped several times to hydrate! Thanks Guy for a wonderful day!
